About the Auslan Teacher Position

This permanent, ongoing position commencing Term 1, 2027 will involve teaching Auslan at the school's Cobblebank campus. The college can accommodate teachers seeking either part-time or full-time employment. Teachers interested solely in the Auslan teaching load are encouraged to apply on a part-time basis, while those seeking full-time employment can combine Auslan with another teaching method. The school can be flexible regarding the second method, including a range of foundation subjects.

Skills & Requirements

• Deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned Auslan lessons that develop students' communication skills and understanding of Australian Sign Language

• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment that supports student wellbeing and participation

• Communicate effectively with students, families and the wider school community

• Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum planning and whole-school learning initiatives

• Contribute positively to the school's broader learning community and support its Catholic ethos

• VIT registration or eligibility to obtain

• At least two references from recent employers and completion of HARKE's safeguarding onboarding
