Role Overview:
As an Administrative Associate, you will be instrumental in managing essential administrative tasks, coordinating legal and office operations, and supporting staff with daily workflows. The position involves handling sensitive information, organizing files, and facilitating communication across teams. Additionally, you will have the unique opportunity to travel throughout the five boroughs to support court filings and legal document collection, providing invaluable experience in a professional legal environment.
Required Skills:
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
- Willingness to travel locally within New York City boroughs
- Ability to multitask and support various departments as needed
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with legal or judicial documentation and procedures
- Previous administrative support in nonprofit or legal settings
- Pre-law or college students interested in legal aid work
- Valid driver’s license or transportation means for borough travel
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Currently enrolled college students, preferably with a focus on pre-law, political science, or related fields
- Prior administrative or office support experience is a plus
- Motivated individuals eager to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment
Other Requirements:
- This position is fully onsite at the Brooklyn location (45 Main Street, Suite 302)
- Ability to work 2-4 days a week, 14-21 hours, typically Tuesday and Thursday, with potential additional days
- Professional business casual dress code (jeans and nice sneakers acceptable)
- Must pass background checks and drug screening
