Head of Closing and Reporting

EMEA Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Finance leader to take on the role of Head of Accounting for a dynamic, global technology company.

This position is critical in overseeing global financial reporting, ensuring compliance with international accounting standards, and sharing strategic financial insights. 

Key responsibilities of the Head of Accounting:

• Overseeing the financial closing on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Supervising the preparation of financial statements and management reporting
• Ensuring adherence to international accounting standards and monitoring and adapting to financial regulation changes
• Driving improvements in financial processes, optimizing workflows, and enhancing reporting accuracy
• Acting as the primary contact for auditors 
• Providing financial expertise and guidance to leadership, contributing to business planning, budgeting, and strategic forecasting
• Coaching, developing, and motivating a team of Accounting professionals
• Supporting cross-functional collaboration to enhance overall financial governance

Key requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred)
• 10+ years of experience in Financial Accounting, reporting, and closing 
• Experience managing and developing Finance teams in a multi-national environment
• Expertise in IFRS, German GAAP (Handelsgesetzbuch, HGB)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to navigate complex financial environments and drive process efficiencies
