Chandler Macleod is seeking a motivated and reliable Plant Operator to support the operation team at Baiada Rendering Plant, Tamworth.

- Competitive hourly rates plus shift penalties and allowances
- Monday - Saturday | Day Shift: 7am – 3pm
- Potential for permanency following probation
As a Plant Operator, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of the rendering facility. You will be responsible for monitoring production processes, operating plant equipment, conducting routine checks, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and hygiene.
This is a hands-on position that requires physical fitness, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor rendering plant equipment and processes
- Conduct routine plant inspections and operational checks
- Load and unload vehicles and materials as required
- Complete production, monitoring, and quality records accurately
- Assist with troubleshooting and reporting plant issues
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment
- Perform general cleaning duties including hosing, washing down equipment, sweeping, foaming, sanitising, and using water guns and hand tools
- Follow all site biosecurity, safety, quality, and environmental procedures
- Assist with the handling and movement of finished product and by-products
About You

Essential Requirements
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport
- Strong commitment to safety and workplace procedures
- Physically fit and capable of repetitive manual handling
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment involving heat, noise, odours, and wet conditions
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer skills for recording operational data
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
- Previous experience in manufacturing, production, processing, rendering, waste management, or similar industrial environments
- Forklift licence and operating experience
- Mechanical aptitude or experience operating machinery
- Experience performing plant checks and monitoring production processes
- Understanding of workplace safety and quality systems
