Financial Controller

Job Description
As Financial Controller, you will play a key role in overseeing the hotel’s financial health, operational efficiency, and long-term financial planning. The position requires a hands-on leader with strong analytical capabilities and the ability to support strategic decision-making across the business.
Key responsibilities include:

• Directing the hotel’s financial operations and supporting overall business performance
• Supervising financial reporting activities to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery
• Developing and strengthening internal control procedures to protect company assets and ensure compliance
• Leading, mentoring, and developing the finance team while promoting a high-performance culture
• Evaluating and approving capital expenditure requests in accordance with business priorities and investment strategies
• Maintaining strong working relationships with external stakeholders including banks, auditors, and tax authorities
• Partnering with the General Manager and Executive Leadership Team to support operational and financial objectives
• Coordinating with the Corporate Office to ensure compliance with company financial standards, policies, and reporting requirements
• Preparing detailed financial reports, forecasts, and business analyses for senior leadership and ownership
• Managing the annual budget preparation process along with periodic forecasting and financial planning exercises
• Monitoring departmental costs and implementing effective cost management initiatives throughout the property
• Ensuring adherence to local regulations, accounting principles, and international financial standards
• Managing cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to maintain a strong financial position
• Overseeing payroll operations to ensure timely and accurate salary processing
• Identifying opportunities to improve profitability, optimise revenue streams, and reduce operational costs

This position is instrumental in shaping the financial direction of the hotel and requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and communication skills.
Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline, along with a recognised professional accounting qualification
• At least 5 years of experience in a senior finance management role within the hospitality industry, including:
  • Demonstrated success in improving hotel financial performance
  • Strong expertise in accounting, financial management, and taxation
  • Experience preparing, analysing, and presenting management and statutory reports
  • In-depth understanding of hotel finance controls and compliance procedures
  • Solid experience with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience managing teams, meeting deadlines, and developing staff
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience in hotel openings, rebranding projects, or cluster finance operations would be beneficial
• Excellent written and spoken Thai and English
• Strong computer proficiency, including systems implementation experience and working knowledge of QuickBooks, Opera, and Micros
