We're seeking a Metal Fabricator to join our team in Elkhart, IN. In this role, you'll fabricate the support brackets and custom framing used to mount commercial vehicle mirrors. You'll work with metal components, perform fabrication and fitting work, and learn MIG welding as a major part of the position.No previous MIG welding experience is required! Training will be provided for the right candidate. However, a genuine desire to learn, willingness to be taught, and commitment to developing your welding skills are required for this position.What You'll Be DoingAs a Metal Fabricator, your core responsibilities will include:-Metal Fabrication: Fabricate support brackets and other metal components used in the assembly and installation of commercial vehicle mirrors.-Custom Framing: Build and modify custom metal framing as needed to ensure mirror assemblies properly fit and mount to different commercial vehicles.-MIG Welding: Learn and perform MIG welding to join, repair, and fabricate metal components according to production specifications.-Fitting Quality: Measure, position, and fit components accurately to ensure finished brackets and frames meet quality and dimensional requirements.-In addition, you will also be expected to maintain a clean and organized workstation, safely operate fabrication equipment, follow production and safety procedures, and communicate any quality or production concerns to leadership.What We're Looking ForTo be successful in this role, you should have the following:Qualifications:Previous metal fabrication or manufacturing experience is preferred but not requiredMIG welding experience is NOT required – training will be providedMust have a genuine desire and willingness to learn MIG weldingAbility to learn new fabrication and welding techniquesComfortable working with metal and manufacturing equipmentComfortable working around sparks, heat, and hot metalAbility to follow detailed instructions and safety proceduresStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityReliable attendance and punctualityAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to safely handle and move metal components throughout the workdaySkills:-MIG Welding: Willingness and ability to learn MIG welding techniques and develop proficiency through hands-on training.-Metal Fabrication: Ability to learn how to cut, position, fit, and fabricate metal components to meet production requirements.-Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately measure and position components to ensure proper fit and function.-Mechanical Aptitude: Comfortable learning how tools, equipment, and fabricated components work together.-Safety: Ability to work responsibly around sparks, hot metal, welding equipment, and other manufacturing hazards.What We're Looking For in a Candidate-The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, hands-on, and genuinely interested in learning welding and metal fabrication.
