We're partnering with a values-driven organisation in North Brisbane to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer to take full ownership of the end-to-end payroll function. The Opportunity

As Payroll Officer, you'll have ownership of the payroll function and play a critical role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. The environment is varied and engaging, with a strong focus on Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation, payroll compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the end-to-end fortnightly payroll process
• Interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements and employment conditions
• Ensuring accurate calculation of wages, penalty rates, allowances and leave entitlements
• Managing payroll tax, reporting and compliance obligations
• Processing payroll adjustments, reconciliations and audit checks
• Responding to payroll queries and providing support to managers and employees
• Maintaining payroll data integrity and employee records
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
• Partnering closely with Finance to support reporting and payroll integration

About You

We're looking for someone who is highly detail-oriented, enjoys working through complexity and takes ownership of their work.

You'll bring:

• Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing (min. 3-4 years)
• Strong Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation skills
• Sound knowledge of payroll tax and payroll compliance requirements
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• A willingness to continuously learn and deepen your understanding of Awards, EAs and employment conditions
