Property Claims Consultant

South-East Melbourne | $80,000–$120,000 + Super + Bonus

An established and highly regarded insurance brokerage is looking for an experienced Property Claims Consultant to join its team in Melbourne’s south-east.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a portfolio of property claims while working closely with brokers, clients, insurers and loss adjusters. The role would suit someone with solid property claims experience gained within an insurance brokerage or agency who understands the importance of strong communication, technical claims management and delivering positive outcomes for clients.

The Role
You will be responsible for managing property claims from notification through to resolution, including:

• Managing a mixed portfolio which will be predominantly made up of property claims from notification through to settlement
• Handling commercial claims across a range of client risks
• Liaising with clients, brokers, insurers, loss adjusters, builders and other claims stakeholders
• Assessing claims, reviewing policy coverage and monitoring progress
• Coordinating repairs, assessments, reports and settlement processes
• Negotiating with insurers and service providers where required
• Keeping clients and brokers updated throughout the claims process
• Identifying and resolving issues to ensure claims progress efficiently
• Maintaining accurate claims records and providing a high level of service
• Working closely with the broader broking team to support positive client outcomes

About You

• Proven Property Claims experience within an insurance brokerage or agency is essential
• Strong understanding of commercial property insurance and claims processes
• Experience managing claims from notification through to settlement
• Confident dealing with insurers, loss adjusters, clients and other stakeholders
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage a portfolio independently and prioritise competing claims
• Strong attention to detail and a solutions-focused approach
• Professional, proactive and client-focused manner
