The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deli Supervisor to lead our deli team and ensure the highest standards of food quality, food safety, customer service, and operational excellence.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily deli operations, driving sales performance, maintaining stock controls, and supporting the development of team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with HACCP and food safety regulations, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Oversee stock management, inventory control, and waste reduction within the deli department.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of food products and essential supplies, including packaging, cleaning materials, and consumables.
- Lead daily deli operations to ensure efficient service and exceptional customer experiences.
- Supervise and support team members across food preparation, service, packaging, and counter operations.
- Identify and implement initiatives to improve sales, standards, and operational efficiency.
- Manage product storage, rotation, and shelf-life controls to minimise waste and maintain product quality.
- Ensure all products are correctly priced, labelled, and displayed.
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and effectively.
- Foster a positive team culture focused on customer service, collaboration, and performance.
- Complete administrative and back-office duties as required.
- Assist with inventory planning, budgeting, and stock count processes.
- Investigate and report inventory variances.
- Train and coach team members on company policies, procedures, and sales best practices.
About You
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a deli, fresh food, food retail, or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP requirements.
- Experience managing stock control, inventory, and waste reduction processes.
- Proven ability to supervise, motivate, and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead by example.
