Part-Time Registered Nurse - Occupational Health

Occupational Health Registered Nurse needed for a part-time, 20 hour per week, long-term contract opportunity with Yoh’s well-known client located in Moreno Valley, CA.
 

This clinic offers occupational and preventative care for employees. Interesting job conducting new hire/routine medical screenings, medical surveillance exams, and keeping employees healthy and safe at their workplace. Primary responsibilities include care and management of occupational injuries/illnesses, hearing conservation, and initial care of acute non-occupational illnesses.
--> SHIFTS: can be flexible but must be 4 consecutive days, 5 hour shifts (20 hrs per week: ie Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday 8:30am to 1:30pm or 9am to 2pm)


Top Skills You Should Possess:

• Active/unrestricted Registered Nurse license in state of California
• Previous experience within: Occupational Health, Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Primary Care, Family Medicine, School Nursing, or Corrections type setting
• Recent clinical experience, strong first-aid skills, and must be comfortable working autonomously
• Professional, knowledgeable, friendly, outgoing, and reliable

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Nursing assessment, triage, treatment, and education for employee health concerns
• Ambulatory care such as treating sore throats, ear aches, rashes, pink eye, etc.
• Provide wellness materials/information (health promotion and disease prevention)
• Assist with the delivery of the medical surveillance program
• Provide counseling, health education, and training programs 
• Dispense OTC medications
• FMLA/CFRA/PDL Medical Certification Review and Approval
• Perform post-offer, pre-hire physical documentation review, delivery of onsite medical testing, and medical qualification program determination up to primary clearance
• Manage the return-to-work program
• Respond to medical emergencies and administer first-aid to employees

What You Need to Bring to the Table

• Required Certifications: BLS & CAOHC/COHC (hearing conservation/audiometry)
  • Reimbursement available for hearing conservation course but must be open to completing prior to starting.
• Must be comfortable working with computers (EMR systems, Microsoft Office products, and more)
• Preferred Certifications: NIOSH (spirometry/pulmonary function test) and COHN (Certified Occupational Health Nurse)
