Apply directChristy Media Solutions is recruiting a Live Sound Engineer on behalf of our client for a varied position combining live sound operations at UK horseracing events with hands-on audio installation, maintenance and repair work.
This is a practical role for someone equally comfortable behind a mixing desk and working directly with professional audio equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Mixing sound at live sporting events
- Rack building and speaker installation
- Cable pulling and termination
- Servicing and repairing hire equipment
- On-site maintenance and repair of installed sound systems
- Working with race officials and other on-site personnel
- Learning the main rules of horseracing to interact effectively with customers
- Potentially progressing into sound system design, commissioning and installation project management
What we're looking for:
- Experience wiring and terminating pro audio or AV installations
- Experience fitting and installing professional audio or AV equipment
- Strong customer-facing communication and interpersonal skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Live sound mixing experience, particularly in sporting venues, is highly desirable
- Knowledge of 100V line speaker systems, Q-SYS, Soundweb, Yamaha digital mixers or two-way radios would be beneficial
The role involves frequent mainland UK travel, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays. There is flexibility around where the successful candidate is based, with North/Central to Southern England best suited to the operation.
