WHAT YOU WILL LEAD AND BUILD
  • This National Clinical Support Specialist (12-month contract) ANZ position, based in Brisbane, supports the pain management and recovery business of this medical device company.
  • The ideal candidate will utilise personal skills, technical expertise, and product functional and technical knowledge to assist the sales team in building and maintaining relationships with key clinical staff to support sales growth. You will identify and pass on new sales opportunities to the sales team.
  • The role will be responsible for presenting pain management and recovery products to healthcare workers in hospitals and clinics, assisting at trade shows and cadaver workshops.
  • Support may include transporting capital hardware and consumables to and from customers and includes ensuring equipment is set up properly and operated within indication and correctly, also includes troubleshooting, training clinicians in the proper setup and utilisation of the equipment, and includes verbal procedural support for physicians.
  • You will support around 30 operating theatre cases a month, and you will be training doctors and operating theatre staff at least 10 times per year.
  • You will be providing clinical knowledge and training, regular updating and refreshing of any training materials and you will complete internal training to gain certification to proctor clinicians and other medical staff.
  • You will deliver training presentations and assess physician training needs and gaps. You’ll make sure that doctors are trained correctly and you will conduct clinical product reviews.
  • You'll develop and support key opinion leaders in clinical practice and identify any changes in clinical trends. You'll support new graduate training programs and support clinical reviews and product evaluations and provide market insights and competitive intelligence.
  • This person will be expected to develop and maintain knowledge of competitive therapies in spine, knee, hip, and shoulder pathologies.
WHAT EXPERIENCE/SKILLS WILL YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB?
  • You will have around 3 years of experience in a similar role in medical devices or have exposure to pain management therapies. Ideally, you will be a qualified physio or nurse. If you are a clinician without medical device experience but have other skills that meet the above criteria, please talk to us asap.
  • Demonstrated strong communication, interpersonal skills, ability to manage high demand personalities.
  • You will be able to grasp highly technical concepts with the ability to impart those learnings to a wide audience from layperson to key opinion leader and other healthcare professionals.
  • The role does require 50% travel within Qld and occasionally interstate, so you must be able to travel.
  • You will have demonstrated resilience to constant and often short notice variations to the workday, flexibility on working hours, additional hours outside of ordinary business hours are often needed for this role. The work schedule is highly fluid and depends on the customer's hospital case schedule, which requires flexibility. 50% of cases are scheduled in hours that are outside of ordinary business hours. You will get time-in-lieu.
  • Demonstrated ability to take on ongoing self-paced and self-driven education.
  • You will have a solid knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, preferably with Salesforce.com.
  • Full, current Australian driver's license.
