Industrial Sewer

The Industrial Sewing Machine Operator runs sewing and light industrial machines to fabricate safety harnesses, bags, belts, and related fall protection items. Employees in this role may be cross-trained to assist with assembly, packaging, or other production areas as needed.

Responsibilities

· Read, interpret, and follow work orders for each job.

· Operate industrial sewing machines to fabricate safety harnesses, bags, belts, and related products.

· Perform basic machine setup and maintenance, including placing spools of thread on spindles, inserting bobbins, and threading needles.

· Monitor machine operation to detect stitching issues, thread issues, or equipment malfunctions.

· Cut material using blades or scissors.

· Position and mark patterns for sewing.

· Inspect completed items to ensure they meet quality standards.

· Repair or alter finished items as needed.

· Perform straight sewing, tacking, binding, tapering, zipper installation, and other specialized sewing functions as trained.

· Assist with assembly, packaging, or other production duties as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

· High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· Previous industrial sewing machine experience preferred.

· Strong attention to detail and quality.

· Ability to read and follow written work orders and production instructions.

· Ability to sit for extended periods while operating sewing equipment.

· Ability to use one foot to operate foot pedals.

· Manual dexterity and finger dexterity to grasp, manipulate, and assemble small materials.

· Steady hand and arm control while sewing or positioning materials.

· Ability to lift up to 5 pounds regularly.

Benefits/Compensation

· Full Time

· Pay Rate is $14.50 per hour

· 1st Shift 7am -3:30pm

· Weekly pay while employed through Career Concepts

· Benefits available while employed through Career Concepts

· Temp-To-Hire

· Benefits after Probation period
