As demand for their advisory services continues to grow, they're seeking an enthusiastic Workplace Relations Advisor to join their highly regarded Workplace Services team.

Working alongside experienced Workplace Relations specialists, you'll provide practical, commercially focused workplace relations advice and guidance to employers across industrial relations, human resources and Queensland WorkCover matters. You'll become a trusted advisor, helping employers understand and confidently meet their workplace obligations, manage employee relations matters, navigate WorkCover claims and return-to-work requirements, and apply relevant employment legislation in practical workplace situations.

The Role
You'll provide practical, commercially focused guidance that helps employers confidently manage their workplace obligations.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing Workplace Relations advice through the Workplace Advisory Service.
  • Supporting employers with workplace relations, industrial relations, human resources and Queensland WorkCover matters.  Whilst this is a great opportunity to leverage off your knowledge of employment legislation, rest assured, you will not be giving legal advice. 
  • You will however be providing guidance on WorkCover claims, employer obligations, return-to-work requirements and workers' compensation legislation.
  • Interpreting and applying the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements to workplace situations.
  • Assisting employers with performance management, disciplinary processes, misconduct, workplace investigations, employee relations matters and workplace conflict.
  • Providing guidance on leave entitlements, workplace policies, bullying, discrimination and harassment matters.
  • Researching employment and workplace legislation and developing practical, commercially focused workplace solutions.
  • Drafting workplace correspondence, employer resources, guidance notes and fact sheets.
  • Assisting with the preparation and delivery of workplace education webinars, seminars and member resources.
  • Maintaining accurate client records and documentation.
  • Building trusted relationships through exceptional member service.
  • Collaborating with senior advisors on complex workplace matters while continuing to build your technical expertise.
About You
You may currently be:
  • A Workplace Relations Advisor.
  • HR Advisor or HR Coordinator.
  • Employment Relations or Industrial Relations graduate.
  • Law graduate with an interest in Workplace Relations.
  • Working within HR Consulting, Employment Services or WorkCover.
  • Looking to specialise in Workplace Relations.
You'll also bring:
  • Qualifications (completed or nearing completion) in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Employment Relations, Law, Business or a related discipline.
  • A genuine passion for Workplace Relations and employment legislation.
  • Knowledge of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and Modern Awards.
  • Experience supporting WorkCover or workers' compensation matters, or a genuine interest in developing expertise in this area.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • The ability to interpret employment legislation and apply it to practical workplace situations.
  • Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, initiative and attention to detail.
