We are currently partnering with Spencer Stuart, one of the world's leading global executive search and leadership consulting firms.
Founded in 1956 and still privately owned, Spencer Stuart now operates in over 70 offices across 30 countries.
We have been exclusively engaged to recruit a Senior Accountant for the German business, one of the company's largest and most successful markets.
This role is based in the Frankfurt office, located in the heart of the city, and offers hybrid working arrangements.
As Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for all aspects of financial accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, while also acting as a sparring partner to the local Finance Leader.

As Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for all aspects of financial accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, while also acting as a sparring partner to the local Finance Leader.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
- Reconcile balance sheet and profit and loss accounts
- Support reporting and year-end close processes in accordance with HGB and IFRS
- Perform independent analysis and reconciliation of accounts
- Manage fixed assets
- Work closely with the Shared Service Center
- Act as a sparring partner to the Finance Manager
- Assist in preparing tax returns
- Provide guidance and support to staff on accounting queries
- Participate in international projects
Requirements:
- Educational background in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Bilanzbuchhalter IHK or equivalent qualification
- 10+ years of experience in a similar role
- Strong practical knowledge of HGB
- High work ethic and a strong sense of responsibility
- Experience with Workday or a willingness to learn
- Fluency in German
- Strong command of English
