About the Position
The College is seeking an experienced VCE Biology Teacher to commence in January 2027.
HARKE is specifically looking to connect with teachers who can demonstrate VCE Biology teaching experience, strong knowledge of senior assessment requirements and evidence of successful student outcomes. The successful teacher will be confident delivering engaging and academically rigorous Biology programs while preparing senior students effectively for VCE assessment and examinations.
Additional teaching areas may be considered depending on the successful teacher’s experience and subject strengths.
Skills and Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality VCE Biology aligned with current Victorian curriculum and assessment requirements.

Prepare senior students effectively for SACs, examinations and successful VCE outcomes.

Maintain strong expectations for student wellbeing, safeguarding and pastoral care.

Work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively with students and families.

Actively support and model the College’s Christian values, faith and educational ethos.
Who HARKE Will Shortlist
Applicants will need to demonstrate:

VCE Biology teaching experience.

Strong understanding of VCE curriculum, assessment and examination preparation.

Evidence of positive outcomes and success with senior secondary students.

A genuine and active Christian faith aligned with the College’s ethos.

Confirmed current church attendance, including the church attended.

A confirmed pastoral referee who can speak to the applicant’s Christian faith and involvement.

Requirements

Registration: Candidates must hold current VIT registration or be eligible to obtain registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

Work Rights: Full Australian working rights are essential.

Faith Requirements: Applicants must confirm their current church, alignment with the College’s Christian values and ethos, and availability of a suitable pastoral referee.

Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.
