Process Operators 3rd Shift

Position Summary
The Process Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating production equipment used in the processing, blending, grinding, and packaging of spices and seasoning products. This position ensures that products are manufactured according to established quality, safety, and production standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Essential Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor spice processing equipment, including grinders, mixers, blenders, sifters, conveyors, and related machinery.
• Follow production schedules, formulas, batch instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Accurately measure, weigh, and add raw materials and ingredients according to established specifications.
• Monitor equipment operation and make routine adjustments to maintain proper production rates and product quality.
• Inspect products throughout the production process for color, texture, consistency, and other quality requirements.
• Complete production records, batch documentation, equipment checks, and other required paperwork accurately.
• Perform equipment cleaning and sanitation according to company procedures and food safety requirements.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety procedures, HACCP requirements, and company safety policies.
• Identify and report equipment problems, product quality issues, contamination risks, or other production concerns to the supervisor.
• Assist with equipment changeovers, setup, and basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain proper identification and handling of raw materials, work-in-process materials, and finished products.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all workplace safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area.
• Work effectively with Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other Production team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in food manufacturing, spice processing, or production operations is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and follow written procedures, production instructions, and safety requirements.
• Basic math skills, including weighing and measuring ingredients.
• Ability to operate production machinery safely after training.
• Good attention to detail and ability to identify product or equipment abnormalities.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
• Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment as required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment where exposure to spice dust, odors, noise, heat, and moving equipment may occur.
• Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety shoes, hair/beard restraints, gloves, hearing protection, and respiratory protection when required.

Work Environment
This position works in a food manufacturing facility and requires strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, quality, and workplace safety standards. The Process Operator may work in areas where spices and seasonings are processed and may be exposed to airborne spice particles.
