Senior Manager – Risk & Compliance Assurance
10-Month Contract | Melbourne | $1,200 per day (incl. super)
Ethos BeathChapman is partnering with a leading financial services organisation to appoint an experienced Senior Manager – Risk & Compliance Assurance for a high-profile enterprise programme.
This role will suit a seasoned risk and compliance professional who combines strong Line 1 assurance experience with exceptional executive-level writing capability. Working within a complex delivery environment, you will be responsible for developing critical governance and assurance artefacts, providing quality assurance over programme outputs and ensuring key deliverables meet the expectations of senior stakeholders.
A significant component of the role involves "holding the pen" on important documents from initial drafting through to final approval, requiring a highly polished executive level writing style and the ability to translate complex technical information into concise, executive-ready reporting.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of closure packs, assessment papers and programme governance documentation.
- Draft executive and Board-level reporting, including papers for Audit & Risk Committees and senior governance forums.
- Establish and apply quality assurance processes across key programme deliverables.
- Develop assessment criteria and assurance frameworks to support programme outcomes.
- Review evidence and deliverables to ensure completeness, consistency and alignment with agreed requirements.
- Provide Line 1 risk and compliance assurance across a range of workstreams.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to challenge, refine and improve the quality of programme outputs.
- Support governance forums through the preparation of high-quality reporting and decision papers.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Experience within banking or a highly regulated financial services environment.
- Strong Line 1 Risk, Compliance, Assurance or Controls experience.
- Exceptional written communication skills, including experience producing executive-level reports and governance papers.
- Demonstrated experience preparing submissions for Executive Committees, Boards and Audit & Risk Committees.
- A strong understanding of non-financial risk management frameworks and governance practices.
- Experience reviewing, challenging and quality assuring complex programme deliverables.
- Proven ability to operate effectively within large, multi-stakeholder programmes.
