Credit Controller – Earlston, Scottish Borders - £25,000

The Company:

Theo James is delighted to be supporting a growing, multi-faceted and market leading manufacturer in the search for a Credit Controller to join their Finance team.

Skills & Requirements of a Credit Controller:

  • Proven experience developing and maintaining end-to-end credit control and accounts receivable processes.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/ production environment would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Credit Law and corporate legislations. 
  • Proficient in the use and understanding of Microsoft packages.
  • Related Financial Qualification(s) would be advantageous but not necessary, such as CICM.
  • Full UK Driving License.

 

Role of a Credit Controller:

  • Manage the debtors of a portfolio of customers including National accounts.
  • Manage customer queries to ensure on-time payments.
  • Timely preparation of weekly/monthly management information, such as debt reporting, on credit controls for sites.
  • Manage the onboarding of new customers within the accounting software.
  • Manage credit insurance for your portfolio of customers.
  • Identify & mitigate credit control risks, assisting with improving/enhancing existing systems & processes.
  • Management of write-off and debt provisions, arranging payment plans for your portfolio of customers.
  • Liaise, where applicable, with external stakeholders such as auditors and debt management agencies.
