Intermediate Fire Protection Engineer

An excellent opportunity is available for an Intermediate Fire Protection Engineer to join a well-established engineering consultancy delivering a diverse range of building projects across Australia.

This role is ideal for someone who has built a solid technical foundation and is looking to take the next step in their career by working on larger, more complex projects while continuing to develop under the guidance of experienced technical leaders.

The Opportunity You'll be involved in the design and delivery of fire protection systems across a broad portfolio of commercial, healthcare, education, residential, defence and mixed-use developments. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll have the opportunity to expand your technical expertise, take ownership of projects and build strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Design wet and dry fire protection systems for a range of building services projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards and relevant authority requirements.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and structural engineering teams.
• Attend client meetings, design workshops and site inspections.
• Support project delivery from concept through to construction.
• Assist in resolving technical issues and responding to contractor queries during construction.

About You

• Roughly 5–7 years' experience in Fire Protection Engineering within a Building Services consultancy.
• Strong understanding of Australian Standards, the NCC and fire protection design principles.
• Experience delivering projects across commercial, residential, healthcare, education or similar sectors.
• Ability to manage your own workload while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to continue developing both technically and professionally.
• Progressing towards or interested in professional accreditation is highly regarded.
