Print Operator Job Description

Position: Print Operator

Job Summary:
The Print Operator is responsible for operating printing equipment to apply labels to reels of material. This position involves moving reels into position, monitoring the printing process, inspecting printed labels for quality, and ensuring finished reels are properly handled and prepared for the next step.

Essential Duties:

  • Operate printing equipment to apply labels to reels.
  • Move and position reels using appropriate equipment and safe handling procedures.
  • Load and unload reels from the printing machine.
  • Monitor the printing process to ensure labels are printed correctly.
  • Inspect labels for proper placement, quality, and readability.
  • Make basic machine adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate production counts and paperwork.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Communicate any equipment or quality issues to the supervisor.
  • Perform other production duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely move and handle reels of material.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to identify printing or labeling defects.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Ability to move reels and materials safely.
  • Ability to lift up to approximately 50 lbs., depending on the specific reel/material.
