Accountant (PT)

We are currently recruiting for a Part-Time Senior Management Accountant to join a growing business and provide valuable commercial and financial support to the Directors.

This is an opportunity for an experienced finance professional to work closely with the management team, improve financial reporting and controls, and provide meaningful insight to support business decisions.

The role offers the flexibility of a part-time working arrangement while giving the successful candidate the opportunity to make a real impact as the business continues to grow.

The Role

You will take a commercially focused approach to the finance function, with responsibility for:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and management reports
• P&L and balance-sheet reporting
• Cash-flow forecasting, budgeting and re-forecasting
• Project profitability and cost-to-complete reporting
• Budget vs actual and variance analysis
• Site and project financial reporting
• Month-end management and reporting
• Working-capital monitoring
• Reviewing VAT, RCT, payroll and balance-sheet reconciliations
• Working closely with QS and project teams
• Providing clear financial information and insight to the Directors
• Identifying areas for improved financial controls, processes and reporting
• Supporting year-end and audit requirements
• Improving Sage and project-costing processes

The Ideal Candidate

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA qualified, or a strong part-qualified candidate
• Strong management accounting and commercial finance experience
• Experience in construction, property, industry or practice would be beneficial
• Strong Excel and Sage skills
• Excellent analytical, forecasting and problem-solving ability
• Comfortable working with Directors, QS and project teams
• Commercially minded with the confidence to question variances and identify financial risks
• Able to provide clear, practical management information
