Pay: $25 - $28 per hour Based on Experience

Shift: 1st Shift (5:00am - 1:30pm)

Job Overview:
Ingersoll Rand has an exciting opportunity for a Process Lead - Assembler/Disassembler at our Bentleyville, PA location. This position is responsible for owning the complete disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly, and testing processes for blowers and rotating equipment. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter resource for mechanical troubleshooting, equipment evaluation, and continuous improvement efforts while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

The Assembler/Disassembler is accountable for the condition, quality, and performance of rotating equipment throughout the disassembly, repair and assembly process. This role requires a strong mechanical background, the ability to diagnose equipment issues, interpret technical documentation, perform precision measurements, and ensure all work is completed according to established procedures and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate ownership of assigned jobs from teardown through final assembly while continuously identifying opportunities to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and workmanship.

 
Responsibilities:
    
Mechanical Equipment Ownership:

• Own the complete disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly, and reconditioning process for blowers and other rotating equipment.
• Evaluate mechanical components for wear, damage, corrosion, and operational deficiencies.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and communicate findings to supervisors and repair teams.
• Verify all components meet dimensional and quality requirements before reassembly.

Assembly and Disassembly Operations:

• Disassemble blowers and rotating equipment using approved methods and procedures.
• Clean, inspect, organize, and document equipment components during teardown.
• Reassemble equipment according to engineering drawings, repair manuals, specifications, and work instructions.
• Perform bearing installation, seal replacement, shaft alignment, rotor setup, and other precision mechanical assembly functions.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, hydraulic equipment, and specialized assembly tooling safely and effectively.

Inspection and Quality Ownership:

• Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
• Verify critical clearances, tolerances, fits, and alignments.
• Ensure all work meets company quality standards and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate inspection and repair records.
• Participate in quality investigations and corrective action activities when needed.

Process Ownership and Continuous Improvement:

• Take ownership of repair processes and actively drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency.
• Recommend process improvements, tooling enhancements, and best practices.
• Support standard work development and adherence.
• Identify opportunities to reduce rework and improve shop productivity.
• Assist in training and mentoring less experienced employees on mechanical repair and assembly practices.

Safety and Environmental Responsibility:

• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area.
• Operate tools, equipment, cranes, and lifting devices in accordance with safety procedures.
• Properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure all chemicals and hazardous materials are properly identified, labeled, stored, and handled.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Teamwork and Communication

• Effectively communicate equipment conditions, repair findings, and technical concerns.
• Maintain professional working relationships with supervisors, engineers, inspectors, and production personnel.
• Support departmental goals while maintaining a positive and team-oriented attitude.

Requirements:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working with rotating equipment, industrial machinery, automotive systems, heavy equipment, pumps, compressors, blowers, gearboxes, or related mechanical assemblies.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, repair manuals, and work instructions.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Preferred:

• Experience with blower repair, vacuum equipment, compressors, or other rotating equipment.
• Overhead crane and forklift operation experience.
• Knowledge of bearings, seals, shafts, fits, tolerances, and alignment techniques.
• Hazardous materials training.

• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and support personnel.
