FRS Recruitment are working with a well-established civil engineering contractor to recruit a Quantity Surveyor for their commercial team based in South Dublin.

The successful candidate will join an established commercial team of 8+ Quantity Surveyors, working across a strong pipeline of major civil engineering and infrastructure projects throughout Dublin.

The contractor is currently particularly busy across road improvement projects, alongside ongoing water infrastructure, electrical infrastructure, utility and public realm works.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to join a busy contractor offering exposure to a diverse project portfolio, a strong commercial team and genuine opportunities to progress internally.

The position will offer a good balance between office and site-based work, with projects located throughout the Dublin region.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial elements across civil engineering infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare valuations, variations and regular project cost reports.
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts and overall financial performance.
  • Procure subcontractors and manage associated commercial agreements.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and payment applications.
  • Support contractual administration and ongoing change management processes.
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout project delivery.
  • Liaise closely with clients, suppliers and project teams.

Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or another relevant discipline.
  • 2+ years Quantity Surveying experience in Ireland – with experience working on Civil Engineering / Infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of valuations, variations and commercial reporting.
  • Good commercial awareness and contractual understanding across projects.
  • Irish or UK construction market experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Full clean driving licence required for project travel.
