1st Shift Packer Helper

Job Description

The Packer Helper assists with daily food production and packaging operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position works alongside experienced packers to ensure ingredients are packaged correctly, product labels and weights are accurate, and all food safety and quality standards are followed. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout shifts of up to 12 hours.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist packers with daily production and packaging activities across multiple production rooms.

• Follow packaging procedures, company safety policies, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

• Verify product labels, package weights, and first-case inspection paperwork for accuracy.

• Complete and maintain accurate packaging and production documentation.

• Clean and sanitize production rooms, equipment, and work areas according to quality standards.

• Handle and lift ingredients and packaging materials weighing up to 50 pounds frequently.

• Report food safety concerns, product quality issues, equipment problems, and workplace hazards to supervisors.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.

• Work with team members to meet daily production goals.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and complete basic production paperwork.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.

• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work on elevated platforms.

• Willingness to follow GMPs, food safety requirements, sanitation procedures, and workplace safety rules.

• Strong attention to detail when checking labels, package weights, and documentation.

• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced production environment.

• Dependable attendance and willingness to work extended shifts, as production needs require.
