Our client is a well-established Tier 2 commercial construction contractor with a strong reputation for delivering quality projects across WA. With a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to add a Safety Officer to the existing team.

This is a role where you will look after 3/4 projects in the metro region, including schools, apartments and sports arenas. Working across multiple commercial construction projects and supporting Site Managers, subcontractors and the wider workforce to ensure projects are delivered safely and successfully.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to join a business where safety is taken seriously and where you will be supported and mentored by an experienced Safety & Systems Manager.

About You:
  • Commercial construction experience
  • Hands-on and comfortable being out on site
  • Trade background with relevant trade qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and requirements
  • Confident communicating with workers, subcontractors and management
  • Able to work autonomously while also being part of a wider team
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Valid driver's licence
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Intermediate computer skills, with MS Office experience preferred
  • Looking for a long-term opportunity with a reputable contractor
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting Site Managers with the day-to-day management of health and safety across projects
  • Working closely with the workforce to improve safety awareness and performance
  • Providing coaching, mentoring and practical safety advice to site teams
  • Supporting site inductions and reviewing SWMS and JSAs
  • Monitoring and reviewing safety systems across projects
  • Assisting with incident investigations and ensuring actions are followed through to close out
  • Monitoring subcontractor compliance and worker onboarding
  • Identifying hazards and supporting project teams with effective risk controls
  • Promoting a positive and proactive safety culture across site
You will be joining a supportive team with experienced leadership around you, along with the opportunity to work across a variety of commercial construction projects.
