Senior Project Engineer

We are currently partnering with a leading mining and resources company to recruit an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their Operational Projects team. This is a 12-month contract based in Perth (Mon–Fri) with strong potential for extension.

This role will see you managing key project packages across tailings and dewatering pipeline projects, taking ownership from concept through to design and into construction. You’ll be working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, and vendors to deliver safe, efficient, and commercially sound project outcomes.

• Competitive day rate: $765 – $1,000/day

Key Responsibilities

• Develop scope of work documentation for multi-disciplinary projects
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment with operational requirements
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors for technical, cost, and schedule inputs
• Manage project budgets, forecasting, and reporting
• Coordinate interfaces between consultants, suppliers, and internal teams
• Work closely with scheduling teams to ensure project milestones are met
• Support transition from study phase into project execution
• Ensure all activities align with safety standards and company values

About You

• Engineering Degree (Mechanical preferred, Civil considered with relevant experience)
• Strong background in fixed plant and pipeline projects (tailings/dewatering highly regarded)
• Proven experience managing projects through design and construction phases
• Solid understanding of project controls, budgeting, and scheduling
• Knowledge of Australian Standards
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Project Management qualifications (desirable)
