Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Highway Engineer to join their growing team.
About the Opportunity
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an accomplished Highway Engineer seeking to take the next step in their career.
Working across a diverse portfolio of transport infrastructure projects, you will provide technical leadership, manage project delivery, build and strengthen client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
You will play a key role in the planning, design and delivery of major highway and road projects while supporting the development of emerging engineers and contributing to strategic business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of complex highway and transport infrastructure projects from concept design through to detailed design and construction support
- Manage project performance including technical quality, budgets, schedules and risk management
- Provide technical leadership across highway geometry, road design, intersections and transport infrastructure projects
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships with government agencies, local councils and private sector stakeholders
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and manage key project interfaces
- Support business development activities including client engagement, proposals, tenders and strategic growth initiatives
- Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering technical excellence and career development
- Promote a culture of safety, quality and project delivery excellence
About You
- Degree qualified Civil Engineer
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent highly regarded
- Extensive experience delivering highway, road or transport infrastructure projects
- Strong technical expertise in highway design and transport infrastructure engineering
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary projects and project teams
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
- Strong commercial awareness and business development capability
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Experience mentoring and developing engineering professionals
