Contracts Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Manager to join a dynamic team supporting major infrastructure and industrial projects. This role will be responsible for developing and executing commercial and contracting strategies, negotiating complex agreements, managing contractual relationships, and providing strong commercial guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

You will play a key role in protecting project interests, mitigating contractual risk, and driving effective outcomes across claims, disputes, and contractual issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial and contracting strategies aligned with project objectives.
• Draft, review, negotiate and administer complex commercial contracts and agreements.
• Provide expert interpretation and advice on contractual obligations, rights and entitlements.
• Manage contractual notices, including proactive notices and responses to emerging issues.
• Build consensus across internal and external contract stakeholders to achieve commercially sound outcomes.
• Lead claims management, mitigation strategies and resolution processes.
• Manage informal and formal dispute resolution activities, working towards timely and commercially appropriate outcomes.
• Identify contractual risks and develop strategies to minimise project exposure.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and key project stakeholders.
• Support project teams with commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure contractual processes and documentation are effectively managed through relevant systems.

About You
You will have:

• Proven experience in contract drafting, development and negotiation.
• Strong commercial and contractual interpretation skills.
• Demonstrated experience managing contractual notices and entitlements.
• Strong claims management and mitigation experience.
• Experience leading informal and formal dispute resolution processes.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• The ability to build consensus and influence outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Experience working across major projects, infrastructure, industrial or resource environments.

Desirable

• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or major capital projects.
• Previous experience within the resources, mining, industrial or construction sectors.
• Familiarity with enterprise contract management systems.
• Formal experience in claims management and dispute resolution.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Several years' experience in commercial contracts or contract management.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex contracts within an industrial, infrastructure, construction or resources environment.
