As an Electrical Integration Engineer, you'll play a critical role in diagnosing, validating, and resolving complex hardware issues across a variety of subsystems, ensuring the robustness and safety of our fleet. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead hardware debugging efforts across compute, controls, networking, and sensor systems within deployed vehicle fleets.
- Triaging and analyzing field hardware issues to identify root causes.
- Developing and implementing lab-based testing methods to replicate field problems.
- Collaborating with fleet support engineers and hardware design teams to propose durable solutions.
- Maintaining detailed issue tracking, containment strategies, and solutions documentation.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience as a hardware engineer, test engineer, or systems validation engineer, with a focus on electrical and physical layer troubleshooting.
- Proven hands-on experience troubleshooting at least two of the following domains:
- Compute/processing hardware (thermal, power, storage)
- Vehicle controls and power systems (CAN bus, battery/voltage management)
- Networking (automotive Ethernet, switch/link diagnostics)
- Sensor hardware (camera, lidar, radar, thermal imaging)
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, multimeters, and network traffic generators.
- Strong systematic troubleshooting skills to distinguish hardware faults from software or configuration issues.
- Ability to navigate ambiguous multi-subsystem problems and identify root causes.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Knowledge of Precision Time Protocol (PTP), GMSL2, and high-performance computing (HPC) technologies.
- Experience scripting with Python or Bash for automation, data parsing, and equipment control.
- Familiarity with embedded Linux, automotive networking protocols, or storage/NVMe systems.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to partner effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Prior experience working in automotive, autonomous vehicle, or high-reliability hardware environments.
Additional Requirements:
- Location: Hybrid in Foster City, CA (at least 3 days in the office per week).
- Employment Type: W2 only.
- Start Date: 09/01.
- Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension).
