Material Handler – Forklift

Nesco Resource is hiring Material Handlers for US Farathane, a leading plastics manufacturing company serving the automotive industry, in Westland, Michigan.

Location: 39200 Ford Rd, Westland, MI 48185

Shift & Pay

2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Pay: 19.50/hr (18.50 base + 1.00 shift premium)

Job Duties Include:

• Operate a forklift/hi-lo to safely move materials and finished products

• Maintain the Central Load Room and ensure the correct material is used during color and material changes

• Follow Bills of Material (BOM) for material changes

• Log all material type changes accurately

• Follow FIFO procedures when replacing materials

• Weigh parts when required

• Properly put away and identify finished products

• Keep presses stocked with totes and skids

• Keep returnable storage areas stocked

• Maintain clean and organized front and back aisles

• Remove stock, packaging, and assembly equipment from presses during mold changes

• Pick up and organize returnable lids

• Change and recharge batteries as needed

• Scan and properly identify assigned products

• Complete housekeeping duties according to company standards

• Follow all safety procedures and company policies

• Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Supervision

Qualifications:

• 1–2 years of hi-lo/forklift experience or training required

• Current forklift certification preferred; certification from a previous employer may be accepted

• Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment

• Ability to follow written instructions and procedures

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area

• Reliable attendance and punctuality
