Maintenance Tech

PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE OF ASSIGNMENT:

The purpose of this position is to maintain (keep in good working conditions) the injection molding machines, tools and production equipment to prevent unscheduled downtime.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

High School or equivalent (GED) education.
Industry experience is preferred.
A minimum of two (2) years' molding experience is required.
The individual must be able to:

• stand most of the time.
• lift 50 pounds.
• understand the molding process.
• read and understand drawings (Part & Tool drawings).
• understand the concept and structure tools.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

• The associate must understand and comply with the YAHAGI Quality Policy, Objectives, company policies, procedures and instructions. The associate must understand the relevance and importance of their position and how they contribute to the achievement of the quality objectives.
• The associate must understand and follow established procedures, instructions and control plans to ensure processes and products meet all customer requirements.
• Perform required inspections, take basic measurements and record required data on production inspection records/logs or special logs provided for the purpose.
• Identify and report to management when a process or product is nonconforming (not meeting process specifications or meeting customer product requirements). Follow the corrective action process.
• Perform normal cleaning and maintenance on equipment and workstations and maintain the work area in a clean and orderly manner consistent with the YAMI 5-S philosophy.
• Understand Requirements for ISO9001:2015.
• Identify and recommend continual improvement suggestions. (Kaizen My Idea form)
• Identify and recommend preventive actions to prevent a potential nonconformance from occurring.
• Understand and report to senior molding personnel when a machine or molding tool is not operating properly.
• Record data and information including reporting and replacement with shot number (quantity produced).
• Other duties either temporary or permanent as required or assigned by management to support the application of best manufacturing practices at Yahagi America Molding, Inc.
• Work overtime at a moment's notice or without prior notice.
• Perform preventive maintenance work on any tool or equipment as needed.
• Must be a team player with a good attitude and demonstrate leadership abilities.
  

The individual in this position will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance of all tools and equipment. This individual will also be responsible for changing molds when required.
