Technology Manager

General Purpose
• Towards customers, work as main contact person on all advanced radio technology topics.
• Towards internal Business Groups (BGs) mainly Mobile Network (MN) and Bell Labs, work as a key contact who can feed customer network evolution strategy and plan back to R&D early enough to make competitive mid-to-long term technology roadmap.

• He/She has responsibility for presenting advanced radio technology capabilities to customers, ensuring alignment with customer’s view and converting the outcome of customer dialogues into executionable tasks.

Job Description

• Lead 5G radio related customer enagement.
• Lead Internet of Things (IoT) related customer engagement from radio technology perspective.
• Ensure alignement between 5G direction and customer’s plan. For this, strong technical competency in end-to-end mobile communication network is required focusing on radio network.
• Continue customer dialogue externally and cross-BG dialogue internally on advanced technology collaborations. As an outcome, he/she should be able to identify executionable tasks such as joint Proof of Concept (PoC).
• Need to work with multiple teams within such as Bell Labs and CTO organization in each BG, to bring innovation to customers.
• Whenever it is necessary, should also be able to help contribute in rather immediate roadmap discussions (as well as mid-to-long term topics). For this, he/she needs to work closely with Customer Solution Manager (CSM) and relevant product manager in BGs.

Requirements



• Fluent English and Japanese, both written and spoken
• Very strong radio network technology competency
• Deep understanding of Mobile Broadband and Mobile Internet industry and business.
• Sound knowledge in LTE-Advanced, 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), and Cloud. 
• Experience in mobile communications system development, test, and engineering.
• Excellent communication skills in global organization with virtual set-up (e.g. through email, conference calls, etc)
• Multi-party communications and coordination capability.
• Education: BS degree of Engineering or Technology mandatory. MSc or PhD are preferred.
