Bluecurrent is an established digital metering and data services business across Australia and New Zealand, with a strong position across electricity and gas. Digital water represents its next major growth opportunity, with an ambition to build a significant new business and play a leading role in the digitisation of the water sector. With the technology, systems integration and operational capability already in place, Bluecurrent is now looking to grow its market presence and establish a digital water solution across utilities and councils.

The Executive General Manager – Water will establish and lead Bluecurrent’s water business across Australia and New Zealand. This is a market development, customer engagement and commercial growth role, with the opportunity to build a new business from the ground up. You will own the -market strategy and personally drive engagement across water utilities, councils and industry stakeholders. A key focus will be understanding customer challenges and translating Bluecurrent’s digital water capabilities into commercial and customer led solutions, while securing strategic partnerships and customer opportunities. With a strong external and customer focus, you will establish Bluecurrent’s credibility in the water market, build trusted senior relationships and create momentum across a sector characterised by long sales cycles and relationship-led decision making. You will lead and grow a dedicated water team, drawing on Bluecurrent’s broader technology, deployment and operational capability.

To be considered for this role, you will bring deep water industry experience, credibility and established networks, together with strong strategic and solution-selling capability. You will understand how water utilities operate, their commercial drivers and decision-making environments, and have the gravitas to engage senior executives, councils and other key industry stakeholders. Commercial, entrepreneurial and highly proactive, you will be a genuine self-starter who excels at operating autonomously and creating opportunities rather than waiting for them to emerge. You will combine customer focus with the leadership capability to build a team, shape a market and turn an emerging proposition into a scalable, commercially successful business.
