Client is seeking an IT Application Developer II to support and enhance manufacturing and business-critical applications at its Canton, NY plant. This role will maintain application reliability, troubleshoot production issues, improve data accuracy, and deliver application enhancements across ERP, MES, and internally developed systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support for Camstar, ONEMES, and other manufacturing and business applications.
- Investigate and resolve application incidents, service requests, and production-impacting issues.
- Work directly with plant operators, engineers, supervisors, and leadership to understand issues and restore service.
- Develop new functionality and modify existing software applications.
- Read, analyze, troubleshoot, test, and debug code, primarily using C# and Python.
- Use Visual Studio, C#, SQL, and related technologies to support application development and enhancement activities.
- Analyze system requirements, workflows, and business processes.
- Create, test, document, and implement application changes and minor development efforts.
- Write and analyze SQL queries to investigate issues, validate data, and support troubleshooting.
- Maintain data accuracy and integrity across Oracle and SQL Server application environments.
- Identify root causes of application and data issues and implement corrective actions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, knowledge articles, and troubleshooting guides.
- Follow established SOPs, change control practices, testing processes, and deployment procedures.
- Provide application training and knowledge transfer to end users.
- Coordinate with IT, engineering, operations, and development teams to resolve incidents and support projects.
- Support application administration and account maintenance activities, including Teamcenter-related tasks.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend process, system, and support improvements.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
- Bachelor's degree or an AAS degree with 5 years of technology experience.
- Hands-on experience with C#.
- Strong SQL query-writing and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using Visual Studio.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365.
- Experience supporting business or manufacturing applications.
- Experience reading, analyzing, and troubleshooting application code.
- Experience supporting relational database environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot application, database, and production-support issues.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills or Experience
- Experience with change leadership or change management.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
- Experience with XML.
- Experience supporting MES platforms, including Camstar, ONEMES, or similar systems.
- Manufacturing or plant application support experience.
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or Python.
- Experience with software testing, quality assurance, and change deployment processes.
- Understanding of production workflows, routing, work-in-progress tracking, and manufacturing operations.
- Application administration or account management experience.
Work Details
- 100% onsite in Canton, NY.
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- One-year anticipated assignment with the possibility of extension based on demand.
- Participation in a 5-week on-call rotation.
- Occasional off-hours support for critical incidents, deployments, or production-impacting events.
- Requires presence on the manufacturing floor as needed.
