Location: WYLIE, TX 75098

Pay Rate: $15.00/hr

Shift: 2nd Shift 6pm-6am

Description:

The General/Production Helper is an essential entry-level position responsible for assisting skilled operators and team members in various stages of the aluminum manufacturing process. This role focuses on material handling, keeping production moving safely and efficiently, and maintaining a clean work environment. No prior manufacturing experience is necessary, as full on-the-job and safety training are provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Material Handling: Assist with loading raw aluminum billets into extrusion presses and moving long finished materials across the production floor.

• Packing & Sorting: Safely handle, visually inspect, and package finished aluminum products using protective wrap, cardboard, and strapping bands according to order specifications.

• Press Crew Support: Work closely with the press crew (pullers, handlers, and saw operators) to minimize downtime and maintain a consistent flow of production.

• Quality Inspection: Visually check extruded or treated materials for obvious physical defects, scratches, or dimensional irregularities before packaging.

• Facility Upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by sweeping, disposing of scrap metal, and clearing debris from walkways and machinery.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred, but not strictly required.

• Experience: None required (on-the-job training provided). Any previous experience in warehousing, construction, landscaping, or heavy labor is a plus.

  • Basic math skills and ability to read basic measurements.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks for the duration of a 12-hour shift.

• Heavy Lifting: Must be comfortably able to lift, push, and pull 50+ lbs repeatedly.

• Environment: Must be comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled industrial environment, which can become very hot during summer months.
