We are seeking a Communications Officer to join a leader in tertiary education on a full-time temporary contract through to February 2027. This position is available from 19 October and will provide support within a busy and supportive communications team.
Working closely with communications, media and events professionals, you will help deliver engaging communications activities that support organisational priorities, employee engagement initiatives and audience participation across a range of programs and activities.
This role is ideal for someone early in their communications career, or an experienced professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, taking direction and contributing to the successful delivery of communications plans.
Key Responsibilities

Draft communications materials across media relations, stakeholder engagement, internal communications, issues management and event communications.

Create compelling content for multiple channels including websites, staff communications, news articles, social media, speeches, media releases and key messages.

Support the implementation of integrated communications and engagement plans.

Work with internal stakeholders to develop and deliver promotional campaigns and communications activities.

Support employee engagement initiatives and internal communications programs.

Assist with planning, coordinating and delivering communications content and events.

Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality and attention to detail in all communications outputs.
About You
You will bring:

A proactive, adaptable and team-focused approach.

Qualifications in communications, public relations, journalism or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
** Experience within the health, higher education or government sectors would be highly regarded but is not essential.
