Foundation Labour Hire is seeking experienced Mechanical Maintainers / Mechanical Fitters to join an established resource recovery operation in Darwin.
This is a hands-on maintenance role working across heavy industrial plant, processing equipment and material-handling systems.
 
THE ROLE
 
You will be responsible for the preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance of site plant and equipment, including:
  • Conveyors, rollers, bearings and drive systems
  • Gearboxes, chains, sprockets and couplings
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Processing equipment
  • Pumps, motors and associated mechanical equipment
  • Mechanical fault finding and diagnostics
  • Planned preventative maintenance and inspections
  • Breakdown response and equipment repairs
  • Alignment, fitting, fabrication and component replacement
  • Identifying recurring mechanical faults and supporting improvements
  • Completing maintenance records and reporting defects
  • Maintaining a high standard of safety and housekeeping
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Mechanical trade qualification - Fitter & Turner / Mechanical Fitter preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in heavy industrial maintenance
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience with conveyors and material-handling equipment
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic experience highly regarded
  • Welding/fabrication skills advantageous
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs
  • Ability to work autonomously and respond effectively to breakdowns
  • Strong safety focus and attention to detail
  • Current driver's licence
Experience across resource recovery, recycling, waste management, mining, quarrying, manufacturing or heavy industry will be highly regarded.
