18-Month Contract, up to $35.40/hr
We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS Analyst to support asset validation and records management initiatives for a major utility organization. The successful candidate will utilize GIS platforms, mapping technologies, and enterprise systems to identify, validate, and correct utility asset records while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform desktop geospatial analysis to identify missing pole assets and pole identification records.
- Validate asset locations using ArcGIS Online, AutoCAD Map 3D, Google Earth, LiDAR, and related geospatial tools.
- Research and identify missing information within enterprise systems including SAP, GIS, and circuit mapping platforms.
- Review field-collected photographic evidence and supporting documentation to verify asset information.
- Consolidate research findings and field evidence to prepare documentation required for system-of-record corrections.
- Analyze work orders and supporting records to identify key asset information.
- Investigate discrepancies between field conditions and digital records and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Support project documentation, reporting, process improvements, and data quality initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to implement data correction and asset management strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience using ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, AutoCAD Map 3D, ESRI products, or similar GIS technologies.
- Minimum 2 years of experience utilizing advanced Microsoft Excel functions including VLOOKUP, IF statements, and data analysis tools.
- Experience working with cross-functional project teams.
- Strong spatial reasoning skills with the ability to interpret maps, directions, and multiple data sources.
- Experience performing root cause analysis, issue identification, tracking, reporting, and solution implementation.
- Experience documenting processes, workflows, and technical procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or a related field.
- Experience within the utilities, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
- Knowledge of records management systems such as SAP, ESRI, ArcGIS, or similar enterprise applications.
- Experience creating reports, dashboards, presentations, and data visualizations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience interpreting complex datasets.
