Position Summary

The Production Operator is responsible for setting up and operating equipment used to blend, mix, package, and transport liquid or dry chemical products. This position ensures the production of high-quality products while meeting customer specifications, safety standards, and delivery requirements in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up, start, and operate production equipment while ensuring compliance with operating procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Weigh ingredients according to product specifications and load materials into machinery.
  • Ensure the correct ingredients and pre-blended materials are delivered to the production area.
  • Monitor production processes and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and processing issues as needed.
  • Operate machinery used for mixing, extruding, discharging, and material handling.
  • Inspect materials visually and physically to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Collect material samples for laboratory evaluation and make batch adjustments as directed.
  • Report production issues or concerns to the Production Lead, Shift Supervisor, or Production Supervisor.
  • Perform routine machine cleaning and sanitation procedures.
  • Complete and maintain all required system transactions and production records.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity within production systems.
  • Maintain production logs, reports, and required documentation.
  • Participate in training, retraining, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all company safety policies, work rules, and housekeeping standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use hands for handling equipment and materials.
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to handle materials weighing up to 250 pounds with appropriate assistance or equipment.
  • Must possess the ability to maintain close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as dictated by plant safety guidelines, including:
    • Safety glasses

    • Dust masks
    • Hard hats
    • Respirators
    • Face shields
    • Hearing protection
    • Chemical-resistant suits
    • Gloves and aprons
  • Frequently exposed to:
    • Wet and humid conditions

    • Toxic or caustic chemicals

  • Noise levels range from moderate to high depending on the work area.
