MAYDAY Recruitment is partnering with a respected organisation within the funeral services sector to recruit a Funeral Conductor / Arranger based in Hobart, Tasmania.
This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, highly organised, and service-driven, with the ability to support families through sensitive and meaningful moments while coordinating and conducting professional funeral services.
The Role
As a Funeral Conductor / Arranger, you will work closely with families and the local team to arrange and conduct dignified funeral services. You will play a key role in ensuring services are delivered seamlessly while providing empathetic, professional support to families during their time of need across the Hobart community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Meeting with families to arrange and coordinate funeral services in line with their wishes
- Conducting and overseeing funeral services with professionalism and respect
- Providing exceptional customer service to families, clients, and internal stakeholders
- Supporting day-to-day operations at the Hobart location
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Assisting with preparation, coordination, and service delivery as required
- Contributing to a collaborative and respectful team environment
- Supporting health, safety, and wellbeing standards in the workplace
About You
Essential:
- Experience in a service-focused environment or the ability to quickly learn
- Current unrestricted driver's licence
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across a range of systems and platforms
- Comfortable working in circumstances involving death, grief, and deceased persons
- Strong communication skills with a calm, empathetic approach
- High attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
- Sensitivity and respect for diverse values, beliefs, and cultural practices
- Physically and psychologically fit to manage manual handling, stress, and the inherent requirements of the role
Desirable:
- Exposure to or understanding of the funeral services industry, or a genuine willingness to learn
- Background in hospitality, retail, community services, healthcare, aged care, or another people-focused industry
