PROJECT MANAGER

SCHEDULE: Wednesday onsite (day may be subject to change), 7:00 AM–4:00 PM with 1-hour lunch OR 7:00 AM–3:30 PM with 30-minute lunch

DURATION: 2-year contract

PAY: $76-81/hr

LOCATION: San Diego, CA




Job Responsibilities: In this role, you will lead and coordinate multiple small-to-medium projects from initiation through completion, ensuring deliverables meet quality, schedule, budget, and business requirements. Key responsibilities include:

· Managing multiple projects within a department or business unit, including:

o Defining project scope, requirements, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

o Developing project plans, cost estimates, resource plans, and schedules.

o Monitoring project progress, risks, issues, budgets, and performance metrics.

o Coordinating project teams, contractors, consultants, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.

o Driving projects to successful completion while maintaining accountability across teams.

· Analyzing business processes and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and operational performance.

· Building business cases and project justifications for process improvement and technology enablement initiatives.

· Supporting technology integration and low-code solutions that improve workflows, reporting, and business processes.

· Evaluating project benefits, value realization, and change impacts to ensure expected outcomes are achieved.

· Developing project documentation, user guides, training materials, status reports, and executive-ready presentations.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

· Lead all phases of project execution, including project scoping, planning, design, implementation, monitoring, and closeout.

· Develop and maintain project requirements, schedules, milestones, resource plans, budgets, and forecasts.

· Establish project parameters and ensure deliverables align with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.

· Monitor project performance and recommend schedule changes, cost adjustments, or additional resources as needed.

· Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.

· Analyze regulatory impacts and requirements applicable to assigned projects.

· Provide direction and coordination to contractors, consultants, vendors, and project teams.

· Coordinate input and participation from multiple departments to achieve project objectives.

· Facilitate project meetings and document meeting notes, decisions, action items, project status, and follow-up activities.

· Develop and deliver project status updates and presentations to management, Directors, and Executives as needed.

· Establish team and project goals and support performance evaluation.

· Manage workforce planning, budget analysis, and budget forecasting activities related to assigned projects.

· Perform value realization activities to identify project benefits, outcomes, and organizational change impacts.

· Analyze data and KPIs to identify trends, inefficiencies, errors, and opportunities for improvement.

· Develop, refine, and maintain end-to-end process flows supporting system functionality, user experience, and operational efficiency.

· Document and manage project requirements, including analysis, prioritization, traceability, approvals, and change control.

· Support application user management by serving as a liaison between stakeholders and third-party application providers.

· Troubleshoot application and user issues and coordinate updates to custom forms, configurations, and related functionality.

· Develop and maintain user guides, training materials, and other project documentation.

· Perform special projects in support of departmental objectives.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Strong understanding of process improvement and continuous improvement methodologies.

· Experience developing process flows and identifying opportunities for technology-enabled process improvements.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.

· Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI, preferred.

· Experience with Smartsheet, including dashboards, automated workflows, forms, and project trackers, preferred.

· Ability to develop clear documentation, reporting dashboards, presentations, and organized project materials.

Education & Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

· 2–5 years of relevant project management experience.

· Experience managing small-to-medium projects involving multiple stakeholders, contractors, vendors, or departments.

· Experience with process improvement, business analysis, or continuous improvement initiatives preferred.

· Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Smartsheet, Power BI, or similar process automation and reporting technologies preferred.

· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

· Lean Six Sigma certification, minimum Yellow Belt, preferred.

· Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement tools and methodologies preferred.
