PARTNER Executive is conducting a confidential search for a Perth based engineering, manufacturing and site services specialist, part of a global infrastructure group, appointing a General Manager, Business Development & Strategy. The business is a recognised specialist in operational technology, control systems, electrical engineering and power systems integration, and it self performs the full OT and electrical scope of a project. That vertical integration is the moat. This role is about scaling it.

The mandate is to step up and win packages directly as principal contractor across WA's mining, utility, IPP and industrial capex pipeline, typically in the $10M to $50M range. Switchroom replacements, primary plant upgrades, substation augmentations, BESS balance of plant, microgrid and SAPS rollouts. This is a hunting role first and a strategy role second. You will personally originate and close, and lead the bids that win.

The Opportunity:

• Personally hunt, qualify and close principal contract opportunities with miners, utilities, IPPs and industrial asset owners
• Own capture and bid strategy on high value pursuits: bid or no bid gates, competitor analysis, win themes, price to win and risk allocation
• Convert an established, current WA network into qualified and winnable pipeline, then lead cross functional bid teams to submission
• An electrical contracting, specialist power or power and energy background is essential, not adjacent industry experience
• Minimum 15 years across electrical contracting, power systems, switchroom manufacturing, OT or SCADA or electrical EPC delivery, with at least 10 years in BD, capture, presales or bid leadership
• Demonstrable principal contract capture at $5M plus package scale, where you led the bid strategy and closure yourself, alongside divisional P&L or pipeline target ownership
