Head of Supplementary Sourcing & Trading

E2E is Woolworths’ fully integrated, multi-channel end-to-end red meat supply chain business (Greenstock) spanning commercial, product development, and the supply chain, managing livestock, processing, manufacturing and strategic planning while maintaining total oversight to ensure excellence from farmer to customer.

The Position:

Reporting to the GM, Strategy & Planning, the Head of Supplementary Sourcing and Trading is a key leadership role responsible for both architecting Woolworths’ overarching boxed meat sourcing strategy and driving hands-on, day to day purchasing execution.
  
In this pivotal position, you will drive commercial outcomes by leveraging deep market intelligence and by building high-value industry partnerships. You will partner across the value chain with planning, logistics, processing, manufacturing and quality to mitigate sourcing risks and unlock continuous commercial opportunities.

The Person:

We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following knowledge & experience, key skills & competencies:

• Track record of architecting and executing overarching sourcing strategies, specifically dealing with agricultural commodities, fresh food or protein
• Deep experience in prior roles requiring an intimate understanding of meat market cyclicality, livestock supply chains, buy/sell windows, and meat processing/quality specifications
• Demonstrated large-scale Supply Chain & S & OP experience, balancing complex logistical trade-offs, network capacity and inventory optimisation    
• Senior people leadership experience leading, coaching and developing cross functional teams, particularly operational and procurement teams
• Commercial & strategic acumen with demonstrated ability to drive commercial advantage by leveraging deep market insights
• High level problem solving with the ability to use data to solve complex problems in a team environment
• Proven leadership experience to develop high performing teams and influence stakeholders
• Exceptional relationship building skills to cultivate high value supplier networks, define overarching procurement strategies and drive vendor performance
• High operational agility with a track record of taking ownership to deliver rapid outcomes
