About the Role:
The Asset Strategy Engineer provides dedicated capability across asset risk, governance, assurance and engineering strategy maintenance to support effective long-term asset planning and compliant, risk-informed decision-making across Port of Melbourne.
The role is critical to ensuring Asset Management Plans, Engineering Strategies and Asset Class / Operational Risk Registers remain current, integrated and aligned with organisational, operational and regulatory requirements. The role also provides specialist support for Electrical and Rail compliance monitoring for major and growth projects, helping to embed emerging obligations, findings and risks into long-term strategic asset and capital planning.
This is an opportunity to work closely with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen risk-informed asset planning, support compliance monitoring and help shape long-term capital decisions for nationally significant port infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain Asset Management Plans, Engineering Strategies and Asset Class / Operational Risk Registers.
- Support risk-based asset planning, governance and investment decision-making.
- Provide assurance and SME input to ensure compliance with internal, engineering and regulatory requirements.
- Support Electrical and Rail compliance monitoring for major and growth projects.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, consultants and delivery teams on asset, risk and compliance matters.
- Contribute to asset management maturity uplift and ISO 55000-aligned practices.
- Coordinate across internal stakeholders and consultants.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in asset management, strategy, risk or infrastructure compliance
- Knowledge of ISO 55000 principles and asset management frameworks
- Strong analytical, stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Exposure to electrical, rail or infrastructure compliance (desirable)
- Experience with tools such as Excel, Power BI, TechnologyOne (desirable)
