Health & Safety Manager

Are you an experienced Health & Safety Manager with a strong manufacturing background looking for a role where you can lead site-wide safety and drive continuous improvement?

Our client, an established manufacturing organisation in Cork, is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to take full ownership of the site H&S function.

This is a standalone leadership role, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior management and operational teams to strengthen safety standards, ensure compliance and build a proactive safety culture across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the site Health & Safety strategy, policies and improvement programmes.
• Maintain effective Safety Management Systems, ensuring compliance with Irish legislation and ISO 45001 requirements.
• Review and maintain risk assessments, safety statements, procedures and safe systems of work.
• Lead incident investigations, identify trends and implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Monitor H&S performance through audits, KPIs and management reporting.
• Develop and deliver employee inductions, training and safety awareness programmes.
• Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality and senior management to identify risks and implement practical improvements.
• Promote employee engagement, safety ownership and continuous improvement across the site.

What We Are Looking For

• A third-level qualification in Health & Safety or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in a Health & Safety leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and practical risk management.
• Experience implementing and maintaining Safety Management Systems.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 and experience with auditing.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and challenge unsafe practices.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and take full ownership of site safety.
