Working Hours:
39 hours per week | Monday to Friday | Early finish on Fridays | FTC 12-15 months
Job Description:
As Purchasing Manager, you will lead the purchasing function, ensuring materials and services are sourced efficiently to support production and project delivery. The Purchasing Manager will manage supplier relationships, oversee inventory performance, drive cost-saving initiatives and lead a small purchasing team.
Working closely with the Operations team, the Purchasing Manager will improve purchasing processes, monitor supplier performance, maintain accurate ERP data, manage supply chain risk, report on KPIs and ensure compliance with procurement procedures and customer requirements. You'll also play a key role in continuous improvement, stock optimisation and supplier development while supporting wider business objectives.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar purchasing leadership role
- People management experience
- Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills
- Knowledge of ERP/procurement systems and inventory management
- Commercial awareness with experience controlling costs and improving supplier performance
- Excellent organisational, communication and analytical skills
- CIPS Level 4 (desirable)
- Manufacturing or engineering experience preferred
