Position Overview

The company is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Vice President of Finance to serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Financial Officer. This is a foundational leadership hire and a unique opportunity to help build and scale the finance and accounting infrastructure of a rapidly growing healthcare services organization.

The role encompasses both Financial Planning & Analysis and Accounting/Controllership responsibilities. The successful candidate will partner closely with executive leadership to develop core finance processes, oversee lender and investor reporting, support external audit activities, participate in ERP implementation initiatives, and lead a growing team of accounting and FP&A professionals.

This position offers regular interaction with executive leadership, the Board of Directors, lenders, and private equity stakeholders.


Location

Candidates located within a reasonable travel distance of the company's corporate offices are strongly preferred. Individuals based in major metropolitan markets throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast regions will also be considered.

The role operates within a hybrid environment and will require periodic travel to corporate and operating locations, particularly during the initial build and transformation phase.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Serve as the CFO's primary analytical partner and lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, including cash flow forecasting and long-range planning models.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators across business units, service lines, and operating regions.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide actionable recommendations to executive leadership.

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure timely, accurate GAAP financial reporting.
  • Partner with external auditors and support all audit-related activities.
  • Lead technical accounting initiatives, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, debt accounting, and acquisition-related accounting matters.
  • Establish and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial governance procedures.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and intercompany accounting activities.

Lender, Investor & Board Reporting

  • Lead lender reporting requirements, covenant calculations, and compliance reporting.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for ownership groups and investors.
  • Support preparation of Board presentations and executive reporting materials.
  • Present financial performance and key business metrics to senior leadership and stakeholders as needed.

Systems, Process Improvement & Team Leadership

  • Support implementation and optimization of a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform.
  • Drive automation initiatives, process improvements, and finance transformation efforts.
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor accounting and FP&A team members.
  • Build a culture focused on accountability, accuracy, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Strategic Growth & Business Partnership

  • Support executive leadership on strategic initiatives, capital planning, and business performance analysis.
  • Provide financial evaluation and decision support for growth initiatives, new market opportunities, and operational investments.
  • Participate in acquisition-related analyses and integration efforts as opportunities arise.
  • Partner with operational leaders to improve financial visibility and drive performance across the organization.


Qualifications


Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field required.
  • CPA designation strongly preferred.


Experience

  • 8–15 years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
  • Prior experience as a Controller, Vice President of Finance, Director of Finance, Director of FP&A, or similar leadership position.
  • Demonstrated experience spanning both accounting and financial planning & analysis.
  • Healthcare services experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience within private equity-backed, sponsor-owned, or multi-entity organizations highly desirable.
  • Proven success leading lender reporting, investor reporting, and external audit processes.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including revenue recognition, debt accounting, and lease accounting.
  • Experience building, developing, and managing high-performing teams.
