Responsibilities
Job Purpose/Summary                                                                                                                
In this role, the main task is to support the BTI Finance Team with general ledger accounting and closing/consolidation tasks in line with corporate financial policies. The team is looking for a motivated and engaged accountant who brings accounting experience to support and help further enhance accounting processes. Key Accountabilities/Result Area
Accounts receivables/payables

• Manage the AP process jointly with the accounting service center, act as a business partner and monitor process KPIs
• Perform cash allocation for received funds and clear open positions.
• Ensure all payments are made in accordance with established payment procedures and that all payables invoices and related payments are treated in a timely manner.

• Ensure all data is entered into the system.
• Oversee the process of preparing, having approved and dispatching payment orders to the bank for payment and file transfer orders.
• Ensure that monthly invoice cut off is well performed in line with the monthly closing procedures and timetable jointly with the accounting service center.
• Credit Card and employee expense booking and reconciliation.

VAT:

• Handle international VAT topics related to the BTI business and support the business with regards to this.

General ledger and closing/consolidation

• Prepare general ledger accounting entries related to month end closing.
• Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings for all group entities.
• Participate in tax return preparation.
• Organise first reviews of balance sheets and profit/loss statement with Accounting Manager.
• Support the head of Finance during the financial audit process.
• Comply with financial policies and regulations.

General

• BTI Point of Contact for the accounting service center organisation
• Support the business and the operations team regarding VAT related topics

Experience/Qualifications
 

• Relevant degree or completion of a commercial training with a certificate in accounting/a focus on finance and accounting
• 3-5 years of professional experience in finance accounting
• Solid experience in AP/AR and general ledger accounting and basic experience in consolidation processes
• Knowledge of Swiss CO and IFRS rules is a distinct advantage
• VAT experience in an international (trade) environment is an advantage
• Positive attitude, flexible, personable, professional; great communicator, self-starter.
• Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Handle multiple priorities.
• Work in a team environment.
• Process automation and continuous improvement mentality.
• Fluent in English, German is a plus.
• SAP FI  and MS Office proficiency. .
