Customer Service Officer Ballina, NSW | Ongoing Casual Opportunity | Immediate Start 

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and helping your local community? We are seeking a friendly, professional and organised Customer Service Officer to support a busy local government customer service team in Ballina.

This is an ongoing casual opportunity with an ASAP start, ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and has strong administration skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality face-to-face, phone and email customer service.
• Respond to customer enquiries and assist with Council-related forms and applications.
• Process cash, EFTPOS and cheque payments, including reconciliations.
• Perform a variety of administrative duties including data entry, document management and records maintenance.
• Assist with development applications, animal registrations and customer requests.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

• Previous experience in a customer service role, ideally involving cash handling and administration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Certificate III in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience highly regarded.

Desirable

• Experience in a local government environment.
• Knowledge of the Ballina region and local community.
• Experience in clerical or administrative support positions.
